Avant Browser is a great replacement for Internet Explorer. Its main advantage is simplicity in use. Therefore, this browser is perfect for people who are not interested a lot in a high browsing speed and just looking to install something straightforward and start working with it right away. So, Avant has determined the target audience correctly and simplified the program accordingly to its users’ needs. But it also has enough adjustable settings for those users who love to customize various functions.Read More
The browser was created as an add-on to Internet Explorer. Therefore, it uses an integrated Explorer search engine and has basic features such as password manager, tabbed browsing, RSS feeds, auto-filler and a find-on-page function. It also can update itself automatically.
However, this internet browser doesn’t have a parental control option either a synchronization feature. So you can’t save any bookmarks or browsing preferences, simply because you won’t be able to access them on another computer. Also, it doesn’t provide you with a high-security level. Avant Browser can protect you from annoying pop-ups and malware, but that’s pretty it. Your personal information won’t be guaranteed in safety.
The browser has a regular interface which is absolutely intuitive and will be understandable to any user. However, it feels a little bit outdated and doesn’t have anything special that will make you like this browser.
When you start Avant Browser, you see a logo, a simple search bar and a few icons made in a bit outdated style. There is a grid of dots in the top right corner that access you to the menu options from where you can start private browsing, organize layouts, open Google translate or adjust some settings. It might be more than enough for somebody, but I feel that it certainly lacks a lot.
Avant Browser is good enough because it doesn’t allow any pop-up windows appear, the tabs crash independently, and it won’t take a lot to understand how to use this program. It also has a useful help section and good support options. You can get all necessary information from the user forums and a list of FAQs or contact the company via email.
Another good thing about Avant Browser is that all open tabs function independently from each other, thus if one stops working it won’t affect others. The browser separates crashed pages to a single tab, and you can close them and resume browsing anytime.
Cross-platform use 4.5/5
Even though Avant Browser was primarily created to replace Internet Explorer. But it also has a version available for Google browser and Firefox. It runs on such systems as Windows XP/Vista/7/8.
Avant Browser is free-to-use and doesn’t offer users any in-app purchases.
Avant Browser is a nice choice for somebody who doesn’t need a fast browsing speed and cares about the simplicity of using. This browser has some interesting built-in features and flexible options, but nothing that you wouldn’t find in other browsers. It lacks a decent security level and compatibility in overall. But if you’re already an Internet Explorer’s user and want to try another Microsoft-based web browser, Avant Browser would be an excellent replacement.Collapse
Avant Browser has a nice and straightforward interface, and even though it's not fast, it is still good enough to be an Internet Explorer’s alternative.
Pros : simple to use;
built-in blocker for adds;
tabs crash independently;
